The Many Sides Of Angels

If you ask 100 people to describe an angel, you’d get 100 different descriptions. If you look at angel figurines, posters, or other angel memorabilia you will see a large variety of styles.

Some angels are wooden sculptures while others are made of porcelain or clay. Some are smooth and  some are rough. Some are brightly colored and some are pure white. Some angels are tender and caring while others are whimsical and child-like.

You can buy angels on everything from mugs, T-shirts and pillows to decorative boxes, books and posters. You can buy angel shaped candles, salt and pepper shakers, figurines and more. There seems to be no end to what you can buy with angels on them.

Still there’s MORE to angels than the beautiful visions in the store windows.

Some say there are angels walking among us that look like us. They keep us safe and prevent us from getting hurt, if we just believe.

Some say angels are people sent to us for a period of time to see us through a tough situation.

Some believe angels are watching us from heaven but not at all active here on earth.

Some believe angels are only men.

Some believe we become angels when we die.

What does the Bible say?

Genesis 19:10-11; Judges 6:12; 2 Samuel 14:20; Daniel 6:22; Matthew 4:11; Matthew 26:53; Matthew 28:2-3; Luke 15:10; Acts 12:11; Acts 12:23

* Whatever you believe could be true. Because there is no absolute recording of what an angel looks like or is, no one will really know the truth about angels until they are revealed to us. I believe it is important to hold onto your beliefs until someone can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are wrong. That said, I know all my questions will be answered when Jesus returns and we are worshiping with the angels in heaven…
