Preparing For Daily Devotion Time With God

How do you prepare for your private devotion time with God? Do you hope to get five minutes after the kid’s are in bed and before you collapse? Do you promise to devote the first five minutes of your day to your devotion time and then you over sleep. We’ve all been there. This article will hopefully give you tips to make your daily devotion time something you look forward to…
Things You’ll Need:
A Bible
A Notebook
A Pen or Pencil

Step1 Ever wonder how other people find the time and place to have a quite moment with God? How do they prepare for their devotion time? What’s their secret? The answer sounds simple; YOU have to de-frazzle your system.

Step2 Date God
Think of God as your date. Choose a time and place to meet with Him daily. Put it in your planner. You wouldn’t let anything stop you from a rendezvous with the one you love so don’t let anything stop you from your rendezvous with God.

Step3 Make the time when you know you can stick to it. Maybe this means getting up thirty minutes early or giving yourself a thirty minute time-out where your children and husband are not allowed to come around you (if you are a guy, then a place where your children and wife are not allowed to come around you).

Step4 Make your rendezvous area special; warm and inviting so you will want to go there but not so much that you get sleepy and fall to sleep. Make sure it has good lighting.

Step5 Have your Bible, Notebook, and pen or pencil in your area. You may want a highlighter and index cards available.
*Plan to meet God there everyday during your scheduled rendezvous.
