Make Christ Part Of Your Daily Routine
Making Christ part of our daily lives takes more than acknowledging that Christ needs to be part of our daily lives. It takes a conscious effort on our part. Real dedication and obedience to Christ.
Things You’ll Need:
Bible
Step 1
When making Christ a part of your daily activity, there are things God expects of us. These things are not required for Salvation, but once we are saved they are things we want to do.
Step 2
The first daily task is to pray. It sounds simple but it is important that we understand prayer. Prayer is our communication with God. A relationship can’t grow or stay strong without communication.
Step 3
We also need to Give God daily praise. Everyone likes to be praised and so does God. If you are having trouble with this, look around you. Everything you see is a gift from God. Tell Him how amazing the sunset looks. Tell Him how awesome the ocean is or how majestic the mountains look.
Step 4
THANK GOD FOR:
1. His protection.
2. His grace.
3. His love.
4. His presence
5. His goodness
6. The blessings in your life. List them one by one (the list is endless!).
Step 5
READ YOUR BIBLE:
1. Read one portion of scripture from your daily Bible Reading.
2. Read Scripture from your Sunday School Lesson.
3. Read Scripture from last weeks sermon.
4. Pick a Book in the Bible and read a chapter a day (two chapters if they are really short).
* Don’t just read the Scripture, meditate on it, study it and pray over it.
Step 6
CRUCIFY YOUR OLD WAYS DAILY:
1. Everyday we need to turn our back on sin.
2. We need to recommit ourselves to Christ.
3. Abstain from bad habits.
4. Be sensitive to personal failures or faults.
5. Do things you know you should do but you don’t want to do.
6. Do something you’ve been procrastinating but know God wants you to do.
7. Resolve not to give into temptation.
Step 7
ENCOURAGE OTHERS:
1. Send an encouraging note to someone (use email, snail-mail, texting or however).
2. Call someone and tell them you appreciate them.
3. Visit someone who is ill or unable to get out.
4. Send birthday cards to people from your church, your friends and your family.
5. Compliment someone who’s feeling blue (be truthful).
6. Take a treat of some kind to a friend, neighbor or even an enemy.
7. Smile, even when you don’t feel like it.
8. Look for a need and try to fill it.
Step 8
* Remember to witness and share your testimony with others. This is a way of keeping Christ alive in you.
