Are You Living Up To Your Potential?

What does it mean to live up to your potential? I believe each of us were born and created by God to do great things. Some of us will do “big” great things and some of us will do “small” great things but all of us can do great things.

So how do we live up to our potential? First we need to know that our potential can’t be measured. Because we are all different, our abilities are different and our potential is different. Once we understand and accept this, we can begin the journey towards reaching our potential.

Reaching your potential requires Fellowship with God.

Reaching your potential requires Obedience.

Deuteronomy 4:5-6 See, I have taught you decrees and laws as the Lord my God commanded me, so that you may follow them in the land you are entering to take possession of it. Observe them carefully, for this will show your wisdom and understanding to the nations, who will hear about all these decrees and say, “Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.”

John 15:14-15 You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

Romans 12:16-17 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do Not be conceited.

Reaching your potential requires Careful Choices.

John 15:15-16 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit – fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.
