Blessing Rocks

In today’s hectic schedule’s and rush to get things done, we often forget to thank God for our blessings. Most of us are so stressed we forget we are abundantly blessed. We forget about our health, our family, our friends, to name a very few.

John 8:50-51 ~ “I am not seeking glory for myself; but there is one who seeksit, and He is the judge. I tell you the truth, if anyonekeeps my word, he will never see death.”

How many times have we been living a good life full of blessings and suddenly, it starts falling apart? We hit a valley and it feels like the walls are crashing in on us. We completely ignored God as long as things are going well and then turn on God the minute the valley comes into sight.

How quickly we forget God’s mercy and grace. How quickly we forget that God has been showering us with blessings and we have been ungrateful.

How can we remember God’s love and blessings when things are going great?

One thing that really helps me to take time to pray and thank God is having Blessing Rocks around my house. You might be wondering what a Blessing Rock is and how you can find them.

A Blessing Rock is a rock that you place in your window sill or on a bookcase or any place that you will see it often. This can be a rock you pick out of your driveway, a rock you find at the river, one you paint or one you leave plain. You can buy one that is glass in a variety of colors or any other rock you find.

Take your rock and pray over it. Ask God to help you remember your blessings every time you see this rock. Now place your Blessing Rock someplace where you will see it often. Whenever you see the rock, take a minute and thank God for the blessings in your life.

I have Blessing Rocks in several places throughout my house. I put one on my bathroom sink for my morning ritual. I have one on my window sill above my kitchen sink for when I’m cooking. I have one on my desk for when I’m writing. I have one in my car for when I’m stuck in traffic. I keep one in my purse incase I get in a ridiculously long line and feel my patience running thin.

Where will you put your Blessing Rocks?
