A Parent’s Love
There is no greater love than that of a parent’s love for their child. It’s the way God feels about us. His love is unconditional and never-ending. If you have ever had a child, you know the feeling of seeing that child for the first time and knowing, you would never be the same again.
Edwin H. Chapin once said “No language can express the power and beauty and heroism of a mother’s love.”
Being a parent, especially a mother, is a beautiful thing. From the moment you become a mother, everything else takes a back-seat.
Colossians 3:20-21 ~ Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.
Ephesians 6:1-4 ~ Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” – which is the first commandment with a promise – “that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on earth.” Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
Wouldn’t it be great if our children obeyed every word we tell them? And wouldn’t it be peaceful if we never said anything to upset our children. Harmony would rule the house. Everyone disobeys at some point in their life, many of us disobey too often. And as parents, we lose our cool and say something to anger our children, hopefully not too often.
If I’d known grandchildren were going to be so much fun, I’d have had them first ~ Anonymous.
I am a grandmother and I think my grandchildren are the best, not perfect but close. Even knowing how amazing they are, I wouldn’t have skipped my daughters to get them first. Our children can drive us stark raving mad one minute and bring us unbelievable joy the next minute.
* So if you have children, don’t forget to tell them how much they mean to you.
* If you don’t have children, don’t forget to tell you parents you appreciate them.
